Year 10 & 11 Healthcare Academy

Are you a Year 10 or Year 11 student and considering a career in Health & Social Care? Weston College’s Healthcare Academy gives you practical, hands-on experience while exploring the wide range of career opportunities available within the industry as well as meeting like-minded students. Sessions take place at the Health and Active Living Skills Centre on Tuesdays, 16:45-17:45. Interactive workshops cover: physiological measurements (including observations and vital signs); moving and handling techniques; Basic Life Support (BLS) skills; communication and person-centred care; teamwork and professional behaviours in healthcare. Designed to support school-leavers in their first steps towards a career in healthcare. Open to everyone, whether set on studying a Health programme or still unsure.
