When and what is Men’s March?
The Men’s March is one of our 3 walk events that take place during the year, organised by and raising funds for Weston Hospicecare.
Taking place annually during the time of the Six Nations Rugby, participants will enjoy a 10-mile walk along Weston coastline incorporating Birnbeck Pier, Weston Woods, Sand Bay and Sand Point, returning back to the starting point to watch the Six Nations with their fellow walkers with their very well-deserved pasty and pint!
Is it just for Men?
Historically our Men’s March was only open to the males amongst our supporter base, but the event has now been open for everyone to enjoy for the last few years. The focus of the event is still firmly about men coming together – to walk together and talk together (something we know we don’t always find enough time to do in today’s world), but the event also highlights the importance of supporting the men in our life too – and so we welcome anyone that wants to come along to walk and support the men in their life. (It’s also really nice walking route we want all our supporters to be able to enjoy it!)
Last year’s event raised over £37,000 including Gift Aid, and having started in 2020 has raised over £100,000 in total for the hospice.
