Hags, Harpies & Harridans

‘You were wild once, don’t let them tame you.’ – Isadora Duncan. A darkly comedic brew of songs, chants, spoken word, poetry, spells and twisted fairytales with a dash of punk, recasting the Older Woman as an unbridled force of nature. Bohemian punk, mystical feminist and grandmother Rina Vergano conjures up the fiery spirit of the Older Woman in all her aspects: soothsayer, witchetty crone, freedom fighter and nature goddess. A darkly edgy and comical mash-up of poems, songs, chants, rants and deconstructed fairytales, performed solo and underscored on harmonium. Spoken word artist Jon Dovey opens for Rina with a short set of wryly amusing poems about intimacy, activism and growing older. Suitable for mixed audiences 18+ / wildly suitable for 55+.
